The category is thick with inflated claims — 12-to-18-hour runtimes, cooling "15 degrees in 3 seconds" — so every number below is a measurement, not a spec sheet. The real runtimes at full speed landed between two and five hours.

The price spread is huge for such similar-looking devices: $15 to $280. The standout pick sits at $27, and price tracked performance only loosely — the $46 AJGJF finished behind fans costing half as much.

Strongest measured airflow at the highest fan speed

The ChillGo nearly doubled the field at 1,789 ft/min — its adjustable outlets concentrate the air instead of scattering it. In the five-point wearing test, the ChillGo also posted the best cumulative score (2,518), ahead of the Torras (2,070) and Sweetful (1,987). The two weakest movers, the Comlife and AJGJF, are both air-conditioner designs that lean on their cooling plates instead.

Manufacturers quote runtimes up to 18 hours; at full speed, reality is two to five. The Jisulife more than doubled several rivals at almost five hours. The pattern is physics: the four cooling-plate units cluster at the bottom because thermoelectric plates devour battery.

Vibration is what makes a neck fan feel cheap against your collarbones. The Torras registered too little to measure at all, and the ChillGo stays impressively smooth given how much air it moves. The OLV Turbo's buzz — well over 2 mm/s — is noticeable the moment it's switched on.

How cool each one actually feels to wear, taking air movement and cooling plate together. The Torras takes it outright, but the $27 ChillGo ties the $100 Dattoy for second — raw airflow you can aim turns out to be worth about as much as a refrigerated plate. The Scurry, at the bottom, is a fan you notice more than you feel.

Half the lineup lands on a very good 2, and the split has little to do with price: the $15 Scurry sits alongside the $280 Torras. What drags the bottom four down is either buzz against the collarbone or a shape that will not settle on the neck — the Jisulife is the notable case, quiet and long-running but awkward to wear.

Resistance to Hair Reaching the Fan Motor

Nearly every one of these claims hair cannot get caught, and the intake geometry decides whether that is true. Small-hole intakes work: the ChillGo and Comlife make contact with the fan effectively impossible. Wide slots and open cutouts do not, and the Scurry and AJGJF are the two to keep well clear of long hair or a beard.

The Verdict

The Torras took the top spot and earns it on refinement: the top-rated real cooling in the group thanks to 14 inches of cooling plate, vibration too low to measure, near-silent low speed, and the fastest charging. The problem is the math — $280 for a device that runs 2 hours 15 minutes at full tilt. It's the best wearable air conditioner here, priced like a luxury good.

The pick that makes sense for most people is the $27 ChillGo. Its adjustable, foldable outlets let it aim nearly 1,800 ft/min of air — almost double anything else tested — it posted the best five-point airflow score while worn, stayed smooth at 0.55 mm/s, and tied for the best hair-safety rating. Runtime under three hours is its one real weakness. If quiet and endurance matter more than raw airflow, the $26 Jisulife finished third overall: the quietest fan at both ends of the dial and the only one to near five hours of runtime.

Among the air-conditioner styles, skip the extremes: the AJGJF has the coldest plate but the weakest airflow, the most noise, and the most plasticky comfort scores, while the $100 Dattoy is a reasonable middle ground — decent airflow, a real cooling plate, and charge-while-wearing. And a practical note that applies to all of them: bladeless designs with small intake holes (ChillGo, Comlife rated best) are the ones that won't eat long hair.
