It is not a quick job — the wipe-and-wait process takes roughly four to five times as long as a spray, and a vertical flow pattern in the water suggested the 1.5-minute dwell before wiping was slightly too long — but it delivered close to $150 durability for a quarter of the money.
For value, Hybrid Solutions is the pick at $15. It produced the slickest paint in the whole test at 1.5 lb, tied Cerakote for third in the fresh water-beading comparison, and was still clearing water in 15 seconds after bug and tar remover and 4 seconds on plastic — a third-place finish overall for spray-and-wipe convenience. Buyers looking cheaper should be careful: Shine Armor at $8 was largely destroyed by the strip wash alone, well before the harsher chemicals arrived. At the other end, price alone is no guarantee — the $60 TopCoat F11 Pro and the $90 Advanced Graphene Coating were both used up before the degreaser stage, finishing behind the $38 Nano Bond and the $15 spray. And a broader point worth noting: polycarbonate needs 12.7 lb to slide the same sponge bare, so headlight lenses are exactly the kind of surface these coatings are worth putting on.
